Ari’s Glowing Fundraiser for the March for the Arts!
by Ari Jackson
Supporting: March for the Arts 2021 for Duke Ellington School of the Arts Project
My Team: Third Years
Campaign has ended.
Hello! My name is Ari Jackson, and I am a third-year junior in the theatre department! My story coming into Duke Ellington has been pretty interesting. I got accepted into Duke my sophomore year and learned everything virtually due to the pandemic. I did learn a lot of meaningful information as a first-year sophomore, but it was very different from being in person. Now I am beyond grateful that I moved up into the third-year class all in-person. Furthermore, as a junior in the theatre department, I want to continue growing in my craft and being the best that I know I can be! However, the only way my classmates and I can continue being resilient artists at this wonderful school is if you donate for March for the Arts! Any amount of money counts and is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!!✨
March
for the Arts, is the
Duke Ellington School of the Arts annual Theatre
Fundraiser.
Why do we fundraise?
In the Theatre Department, students aren't just taught how to act. They are taught how to create the stories they want to see. They are given the tools to shape the world around them with their art. Ellington relies on the generosity of parents and donors to ensure that our students receive the highest level of pre-professional training and performance opportunities. Donations enable them to create sets, craft costumes, power technical capabilities, hire additional instructors, and fund classes with Master Acting Teachers like the renowned Professor Vera Katz.
